Charles Owen Is Thrilled To Return To Hickstead

Thursday 23rd June 2016

Charles Owen is a long-time sponsor of the Hickstead Derby and Royal International Horse Show and is proud to return again in 2016.

The iconic Hickstead Derby Meeting will be held from June 23-26, and Charles Owen representatives will be on site to offer professional helmet and body protector fittings. Their trade stand, located at the entrance of the Charles Owen Shopping Village, will feature Airowear's Hickstead, an award-winning body protector developed for show jumpers. With a subtle, tailored design that blends over a showcoat and lightweight foam that moulds to the rider's figure, it is annually retested to BETA 2009 Level 3 and is a top choice for the safety-conscious jumper rider.

Spectators will also have the rare opportunity to experience the full Charles Owen line in its entirety. From classic velvets to the sporty Ayr8, there is a helmet to suit every rider in any discipline. Members of the Charles Owen team will be able to answer any questions you might have about helmet fit and style.

Available to try on will be the brand new Flexion body protector by Airowear and the Fian hat. The Flexion is innovative in design to maximize rider movement while maintaining a slim silhouette, making it the ultimate in both functionality and style. Designed using self-adjustment for ease of use and a customised fit, it combines a classic, quilted country style with dynamic materials that mould to the rider's form. Available in black and navy, it features a protective foam that consistently lays close to the body to maximize coverage in the event of a fall.

The newly launched velvet Fian epitomizes the same elegance as its predecessor, the popular Fiona, and is Kitemarked and CE marked to VGI 01.040 2014-12. The hat features a beautifully slim profile and is covered in luxurious velvet with a slim, tan harness and an energy-absorbing peak. It is available in black, navy, brown, grey or green to suit a wide array of preferences.

"We are honoured to continue our partnership with another iconic British equestrian institution and are looking forward to meeting riders and spectators throughout the competition," said Managing Director Roy Burek. "Hickstead is always a wonderful competition and we are ecstatic to be able to showcase our line there each year."
