Wednesday 10th August 2011

The Charles Owen Centennial Celebration continued at the Royal International Horse Show at Hickstead, culminating in a party in the Charles Owen International Riders Lounge on the Saturday evening.

Special guests rubbed shoulders with International riders, owners, trainers and press whilst enjoying champagne, canapés and a slice of Charles Owen birthday cake.

Charles Owen sponsored riders including Nick Skelton, Laura Kraut, Beezie Madden and Ellen Whitaker joined the party and took time to pose for pictures with other guests and chat with the press in the Charles Owen International Riders Lounge. All who joined the party thoroughly enjoyed three hours of excellent conversation, catching-up with industry friends and networking with colleagues.

World famous for raising the bar in safety, Charles Owen is celebrating its 100 year birthday throughout 2011 as a leading British manufacturer of riding helmets and body protectors. When Charles Owen himself founded the company in 1911, his mission was to make products for a safer world. Under the direction of Charles Owen’s grandson, Roy Burek, the mission has remained the same, but has extended its reach to all parts of the globe.

Charles Owen has hosted select parties throughout 2011 to celebrate their centennial year and the next event will be held at the USHJA International Derby Finals in Kentucky, USA.
